Setting Sail

Starting a clinic on my own is definitely a new adventure. Thank you to the many patients and friends who have shown support and interest.

While my focus is on being a family doctor, the business and legal aspects necessary to create the space and setting for me to practice medicine is inevitable. For example, I need to form an LLC. Another example is the reason for the website to end in “.com” is because it costs extra to personalize the domain name to anything other than “.com”. The learning curve is steep, but I think it’s worth the effort.

The goal and hope are things will be much simpler than the huge healthcare system and insurance company rules that dictated how I practiced as a doctor, but I need to understand and get through some of these business and legal layers before I can start my practice.

Currently, I’m working with a lawyer, who is looking over my lease for the potential space, as well as my Patient Agreement document, to make sure everything is set up correctly and protect all parties involved. I’ll also need to check with the City of Ballwin to make sure I have everything I need, such as clarifying whether I’ll need a business license to operate a clinic. There are definitely plenty of things keeping me busy, and I appreciate the time to catch up with friends and just enjoying a little break.

I appreciate your prayers and support. I will keep everyone updated on my progress, but please feel free to reach out with any questions!
